shoji teapot display
This is an extraordinary piece of custom furniture. As a starting point, this client brought us a picture of a turn of the century sideboard featuring an open area in the middle for storing books, and I honestly didn’t love it that much. It looked a bit clumsy and out of proportion. So we set about redesigning it until we felt as though the proportions were more pleasing and the details more refined. I think the results are fabulous.
While this client uses the piece to store, protect, and display her collection of teapots, it could also be used as a buffet or a credenza, for a wide variety of purposes.
The sides and doors feature beautifully textured antique German glass.
