The low, horizontal form of this custom designed bed creates a sense of stillness, like the glassy surface of a calm forest lake. The two pieces that make up the headboard are slightly separated by three pieces of wenge, employing negative space as a subtle design element. The six integrated terraced drawers serve as perfect side tables, while the flat surfaces along the sides of the bed are hinged and actually flip open for storage (this client uses the space to store books for bedtime reading).
